Happy Uttarakhand Foundation Day 2022: Every year on November 9, Uttarakhand Foundation Day is observed. It is also known as Uttrakhand Divas and commemorates the establishment of India’s 27th state. Uttarakhand did not exist at the time of India’s independence. It is one of the newer states established by the Uttar Pradesh Reorganisation Act of 2000.
When the Uttarakhand Kranti Dal was formed in the 1990s with the goal of achieving statehood, a widespread movement for statehood swept the region. It went on for many years. Following that, the state of Uttarakhand was established, initially as Uttaranchal.
On August 28, 2000, then-President K. R. Narayanan signed the bill, which later became an act. Finally, Uttaranchal was renamed Uttarakhand on January 1, 2007.
