Haryana: Coronavirus suspect dies after trying to escape hospital, report comes negative

Kerala: 55-year-old who tested positive for COVID-19 dies by suicide in Thrissur hospital

A 55-year-old man from Panipat a city in Haryana, a possible case of coronavirus died after falling from the sixth floor of Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College and Hospital building on Monday morning.

Superintendent of Police, Karnal, Surender Singh Bhoria said that the man succumbed to his injuries in spot and his body was sent to the mortuary of the hospital and the police investigation on the matter has begun.

The deceased identified as Shiv Charan of Noorpur village in Panipat district.

Some preliminary investigation by the police clearly suggests that the deceased was admitted at the hospital on April 1 after suffering from multiple ailments.

After developing similar Covid-19 symptoms and was admitted at the isolation ward of KCGMCH Karnal.

According to Hindustan Times, Karnal Chief Medical Officer Ashwini Ahuja states, “We have got his report telephonically in which he was negative of COVID-19 infection”.

The police said that he was trying to escape from the hospital by using bedsheets as rope but fell accidentally.
