Haryana seals all inter-state borders, testing must to enter: Health Minister Anil Vij

The Haryana’s Health Minister Anil Vij on Friday said that all the inter-state border of Haryana connecting Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, and Punjab will be sealed and rapid testing kits used at borders itself to prevent the entry of coronavirus infected persons into Haryana.

“Booths will be set up at the borders. All Civil Surgeons have been issued orders and rapid testing kits have been provided. We have 25,000 such kits and 75,000 more would come soon,” he said. “No Covid-positive person will be allowed inside Haryana. We will not let anyone inside our state without a Covid test.”

On the efficacy of rapid testing kits, Vij said he had issued instructions that these be tested before use. “Chhattisgarh has been successfully using these kits,” he added.

Vij also ordered documentation of the Covid pandemic under the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Rohtak.

“A group of doctors will document the disease, expenditure, what kind of medicines are given, problems, challenges, and successes so that it would be a guide to manage a similar situation in the future,” he said.

Meanwhile, Anil Vij, who is also the Home Minister, said the state suffered a loss of Rs 6,000 crore during the lockdown and a loan of Rs3,000 crore would be taken to tide over the crisis.

The total reported cases of coronavirus in Haryana to 313. Among the total people infected as on date, 209 have recovered and 3 have passed away.
