Honda Shine 100 vs Bajaj Platina: The Honda Shine 100 is the newest addition to the in-demand 100 cc commuter motorcycle segment on the Indian two-wheeler market. The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer intends to capture a sizable market share in this category, where Hero MotoCorp already distributes Splendour Plus and HF Dexlue models. In the same location, Bajaj Auto also sells the Platina 100. Clearly, the Honda Shine 100 has a difficult time competing in its segment.

The Platina 100 is powered by a single-cylinder, air-cooled 102cc DTS-i engine. It also incorporates an electronic carburettor to reduce costs. With a four-speed transmission and a manufacturer-claimed maximum speed of 90 km/h, it generates 7.9PS and 8.3Nm. The motorcycle’s gasoline tank has a capacity of 11 litres.

The Honda Shine 100 is propelled by a 100cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine with BS6.2 (OBD2) certification that produces 7.61PS and 8.05Nm. It features a four-speed gearbox.

Features

Redesigned rearview mirrors and halogen headlights with LED daytime running lights are included. Long and spacious, the settee is expansive. In addition to an analogue instrument cluster with indicators for speed, odometer, and gasoline level, it has two flat footboards for convenience.

The twin-pod analogue console of the new Honda Shine 100 is simple, yet it contains a speedometer, warning indicators, and a fuel gauge. The bicycle will be equipped with a larger seat, telescopic front suspension, alloy wheels, and a combination brake system.

Honda Shine 100 prices begin at 64,900 rupees (ex-showroom). STD is the only available variant of the Honda Shine 100.

In India, the base price of the Bajaj Platina 100 is Rs. 67,808.
