In a shocking incident, a woman in Palakkad district, Kerala hid her mother’s dead body for three days in hope of resurrection. Dr Kavitha, a homeopathy doctor, resorted to prayers near the dead body of her mother who died at the age of 72 on Sunday morning.

Omana, a diabetes patient was a widow who worked as an official at the Kerala Water Authority. She was also a retired teacher at Chalavara AUP School. Both mother and daughter stayed at a house near the Chalavara HSS for years. The daughter, Kavitha, worked at the homeo clinic in the area.

According to Kavitha she couldn’t accept the death and believed her mother will return from death. After the failed attempt, she informed the neighbours of the death and asked them to help her with the funeral.

Based on the information passed on by the police to the COVID-19 cell, the body was shifted to the mortuary of the post-mortem on Tuesday. The postmortem will be conducted after the COVID test result is out.

“I personally informed their relatives about the tragedy. Hope they would come”, said Kavitha.

Meanwhile, her neighbours are taking care of her.
