Duplicate contacts can be a big pain to deal with on your Android device. Not only do they take up valuable space on your phone, but they also can be a source of confusion when trying to keep track of who you’re talking to and what important matters you’re working on. Here are some tips on how to merge duplicate contacts on your Android phone.

Open Google Drive

If you have several contacts on your Android smartphone that are duplicates, you may be wondering how to merge them into one contact.

There are a few ways to do this, but the most common way is to open Google Drive and use its Duplicate Contact feature.

First, open Google Drive and sign in if you aren’t already signed in.

Next, open the Contacts app on your Android smartphone and select all of the contacts that you want to merge.

Finally, open the Duplicate Contact feature in Google Drive and click on the “Create New Copy” button.

This will create a new contact with the same name as one of the contacts that you selected in the Contacts app on your Android smartphone.

You can now either delete the original contact or keep it as a backup in case you need it later.

Select the contacts you want to merge

Tap the three lines in the top left corner of the contacts screen
Tap “Merge Contacts” at the bottom of the screen
Enter a title for the merge (e.g. “Merging duplicate contacts”) and tap OK
The merged contacts will appear in the top bar of the contacts screen

of your screen.
Select “Settings.”
Scroll down and tap on “Contacts.”
Tap on the three lines in the top right corner of the “Contacts” screen.
Select “Merge Duplicate Contacts.”
A dialog box will appear with tips on how to merge duplicate contacts. If you have a Gmail account, you can also merge your duplicate contacts into Gmail.

In the pop-up that appears, tap on Merge Contacts

On the next screen, tap on Add.
Now, enter the name of the person you want to merge with and tap on OK.
You’ll now see all of their contact information in the main list. Tap on the name of the person you want to merge with and hit Merge.

Follow the on-screen instructions

If you have duplicate contacts on your Android smartphone, you can merge them into a single contact in the phone’s contact list. To merge contacts, open the phone’s contact list and tap the three lines at the top of the screen. Next, tap the menu button and select “Merge Contacts.” The phone will ask you to confirm that you want to merge the contacts. If you want to keep any of the duplicate contacts as separate contacts, tap “Yes” and then tap “Add.”
