Hyderabad: Stray dog eats half-burnt body of COVID-19 victim, video goes viral

Residents have appealed the government and GHMC to pay attention to the issue.

As the coronavirus cases are taking huge surge in the country, a horrifying video has been doing rounds on social media. In a recent incident video of dogs eating half burnt dead bodies of coronavirus victims has gone viral.

In a recent incident of carelessness by GHMC staff, dogs were seen eating the bodies of corona bodies in crematorium. The news went viral with in no time. GHMC staff is performing the last rites of abandoned bodies and leaving the site without waiting for the bodies to burn completely. The half burnt bodies are being eaten by the dogs.

“The body at the Sanathnagar crematorium was cremated as per the Covid19 protocols. Due to the rain, the flames doused. After that incidents, sheds were constructed over the pyres and the broken wall was also reconstructed,” a senior GHMC official was quoted as saying by TOI.

The viral video has raged anger among netizens, while local fear that these stray dogs if bites them could spread coronavirus. Residents have appealed the government and GHMC to pay attention to the issue.
