Will BJP ask President Kovind to resign for praising Tipu Sultan, asks Sanjay Raut

After almost 3 weeks of the Maharashtra Assembly 2019 results, the state is yet to have a government as the impasse between the Bharatiya Janata Party and Shiv Sena continues. Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Sunday, November 10, said that the party is ready to form the government if no one else is willing to. The development comes a day after Maharashtra governor invited BJP, as the single largest party  to “indicate the willingness and ability” to form government.

Raut further said, “Congress is not the enemy of the State. All parties have differences on some issues.”

Earlier Mumbai unit NCP president Nawab Malik said that his party might consider supporting a government led by Shiv Sena.

“If the BJP government is formed, the NCP will vote against the government on the floor of the House. We will see if the Shiv Sena votes against the BJP in the House to pull down the government, then we will consider supporting an alternate government led by Shiv Sena,” said Malik.

“The Governor has started the process by inviting BJP to form the government. This could have been started earlier also. He should take the precaution since the BJP doesn’t have the number to form a stable government. The Governor should take care that horse-trading is not started by the BJP,” he told news agency ANI.
