5:20 PM| The Central government on Tuesday imposed a ban on 43 more mobile apps. The government said it is blocking 43 mobile apps from being accessed by users in India, under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act.
3:35 PM| Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Tuesday announced that the state government is ready with an action plan to administer scientifically approved Covid-19 vaccine to the people and felt that that verification should be done on whether it has any side effects before being administered.
2:30 PM| The Maharashtra government has formed a task force to manage the distribution of Covid-19 vaccine and how vaccination will be carried out in the state, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said on Tuesday. According to an official statement, Thackeray made the remarks during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s meeting via video conferencing with chief ministers of eight states which have reported higher number of Covid-19 cases. “A task force has been set up to manage the distribution and vaccination in Maharashtra and the government is in constant touch with Adar Poonawalla of the Serum Institute of India to track development of the coronavirus vaccine,” the statement said quoting Thackeray.

The Allahabad High Court in a key verdict of inter-faith marriage has said two adults have the right to choose their life partner. The court said that the law allows two adults to live together, whether they are of the same or opposite sex. The court made it clear that no person or family could interfere in their peaceful life. Even the state cannot object to the relationship of two adults, said the court.

India reported 37,975 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the country’s total tally to 91,77,841, while 480 fatalities pushed the death toll to 1,34,218. There are 4,38,667 active cases of coronavirus in the country at present, while 42,314 people have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours.
The number of active cases remained below 5 lakh for the fourteenth consecutive day. The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 86,04,955 pushing the national recovery rate to 93.76 percent, while the COVID-19 case fatality rate stands at 1.46 percent.
