7:05 PM| Maharashtra government has extended the lockdown in the entire state further till midnight of December 31, 2020.


3:15 PM| Police has opened Tikari border for farmers protest. Trucks and barricades removed.


2:40 PM| Protesting farmers will be allowed to enter the national capital. They will have the permission to protest at the Nirankari Samagam Ground in the Burari area: Delhi Police Commissioner (ANI)


2:20 PM| In a setback for the Trinamool Congress (TMC) ahead of the Assembly elections next year, senior party leader Suvendu Adhikari on Friday resigned as transport minister from the Mamata Banerjee government.

In his resignation letter, Adhikari wrote that he is resigning from his office as minister and “steps may be taken for its immediate acceptance”. He also wrote to the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee that “I thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve the people of the State, which I did all through with a commitment, dedication, and sincerity.”

11:30 AM| Bombay High Court has pronounced its verdict in Kangana Ranaut’s plea matter, which challenged the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s demolition of her property in Bandra. Demolition notice of September 7 and demolition order of September 9 were both quashed and set aside by the HC. Further, the court stated that Kangana Ranaut is allowed to make an application to the BMC to carry out restoration of the demolished work and BMC has to decide it within a week. (ANI)

Four people, including a woman, were injured in a clash between two groups over dancing in a wedding procession. The incident took place in Mubarakpur village of Muzaffarnagar district on Thursday.

According to Mansurpur Station House Officer (SHO) Kushalpal Singh, the trouble started when Hardeep and Surender, who were allegedly in an inebriated state, confronted each other over the issue of dancing during ‘ghudchadi’ (horse riding) ritual. More people from both the factions soon joined in, leading to a violent clash in which batons and sharp-edged weapons were used, the SHO said.
