India registers historic test series win against Australia

India retains the Border Gavaskar Trophy with a 2-1 series win at GABA, Brisbane. Indians broke the fortress of Aussies and completed a successful run chase. India wins by three wickets and retains the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Rishabh Pant was the star of the chase as he remained unbeaten on 89 off 138 deliveries as he guided India home in yet another nervy finish vs Australia.

January 19, Tuesday was the last day of the fourth Test match. The Indian team had a target of 328 runs to win. Chasing this, India lost 7 wickets in 97 overs. The Half-centuries of Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Rishabh Pant helped India to chase the mammoth target & won the match by 3 wickets. Pant returned unbeaten by 89 runs.

Talking about the match, the host team won the toss and scored 369 runs while batting first, including a century of Marnus. In response, India had scored 336 runs in the first innings with help of the half-centuries from Shardul Thakur and Washington Sundar.

The Kangaroo team scored 294 runs after taking a lead of 33 runs in the second innings. The Indian team thus got a target of 328 runs.
