IPL 13 is all set to begin on September 19. The cricket fans are going gaga over it. The first match will take place between the IPL 12 winner team, Mumbai Indians, and MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings. All eight teams have started their preparations including coronavirus tests.

Given the coronavirus situation, necessary guidelines have been issued for the players. Any violation of the provided guidelines will lead to strict action against the cricketers.

There have been reports of crucial players of the teams to be tested for COVID-19 at home. All franchises have taken this decision to protect the players that have to play a vital role in the match.

As per the sources, the franchisees are going to send the COVID testing team to the players ‘ residence and get sampling done. It is also reported that the testing of most of the reputed players has started but no player has been named so far. The results of tested players are negative.

The important players from Team India who are currently playing in IPL include captain Virat Kohli, former captain MS Dhoni, hitman Rohit Sharma, opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan, pacer Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya. Apart from these, for foreign cricketers of different IPL teams will also be tested at home.

Meanwhile, after Vivo’s exit from the title sponsorship of the IPL 2020, it is now reported that Yoga guru Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali is considering bidding for the mega sports event.

As per the business daily the Economic Times, Patanjali spokesperson SK Tijarawala had confirmed the development, saying the company is considering the IPL title sponsorship for this year as it wants to give the Patanjali brand a global marketing platform.

The previous partner Vivo-BCCI partnership ended abruptly as a result of the backlash regarding the Chinese brand on the title sponsorship.

As per reports, Vivo won the IPL title sponsorship rights for five years from 2018 to 2022 for a reported sum of Rs 2,190 crore, approximately Rs 440 crore per annum.
