iQOO 7 and iQOO Legend India launch date confirmed, availability on Amazon; Expected Features

Chinese smartphone maker Vivo’s subsidiary iQOO has confirmed the launch of iQOO 7 to take place on April 26 in India. The smartphone maker is rumored to unveil the standard iQOO 7 and the iQOO 7 Legend in the country.

The launch date has just been revealed by a Tweet from iQOO India’s official Twitter handle.  

The tweet included an Amazon link that led to a dedicated microsite, showcasing the key features of the higher-end iQOO 7 Legend 5G.

Now, although iQOO launched the iQOO 7-series in two storage variants, with the higher-end variant being a BMW-themed limited edition model in China. In India, it seems like the company plans to bring only the iQOO 7 BMW M Motorsport Edition as the iQOO 7 Legend. While the standard iQOO 7 will reportedly be a rebranded iQOO Neo 5, which the company launched in China last month.

The iQOO 7 series will sport a 6.62-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with support for a 120Hz refresh rate. The iQOO 7 Legend will ship with Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 888 SoC, whereas the standard iQOO 7 may be powered by a Snapdragon 870 chipset under the hood. This will further be coupled with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

In the camera department, the standard iQOO 7 will be powered by a triple rear camera setup that consists of a 48-megapixel primary sensor, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide shooter, and finally, a 13-megapixel portrait camera. There’s a 16-megapixel shooter for selfies on the front. While the iQOO 7 Legend will also feature a triple camera setup, it will get a different camera setup, including a 48-megapixel primary shooter, a 50mm portrait lens, and a third unknown lens.

The phone is backed by a 4,000mAh battery with 120W fast charging and runs OriginOS based on Android 11. Additionally, it has an in-display fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C Port, NFC, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth version 5.2, and more.

Both the devices, apart from being available via Amazon, will be manufactured in India at the company’s Greater Noida facility and will be a part of the ‘Make in India’ initiative, the company said.
