Jaguar Land Rover has launched its famous off-road SUV Defender in India with two powerful engines. The company has introduced this car with new and more powerful petrol and diesel engines. JLR has added a 3.0-litre 6-cylinder turbocharged unit, making this car the most powerful car in its segment.
The diesel variant of the Land Rover Defender SUV is now available in four trims SE, HSE, X-Dynamic HSE and X. The engine is capable of generating a power of 300hp at 4,000 rpm and a torque of 650 Nm between 1,500-2,500 rpm.
The new diesel engine defender is capable of catching a speed of 100 kmph in just 6.7 seconds. The top speed of this car has been fixed at 191 kmph.
The new 3.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit is capable of generating 400hp of power and 550 Nm of torque. The company has designed both the engines for eight-speed automatic transmission and has been introduced with a four-wheel drive system.
The car also has the facility of mild hybrid technology. With the inclusion of these new engines, Land Rover Defender now includes three engines. Earlier it was introduced with a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit. Which provides a power of 300hp.
Jaguar Land Rover Defender Price
The Defender’s 3.0-litre turbocharged diesel unit is priced at Rs 94.36 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), and the top variant X will be priced at Rs 1.08 crore. The Defender 3.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit is priced at Rs 86.24 lakh and the top-end variant is priced at Rs 92.80 lakh.
Jaguar Land Rover vehicles are available in India in 24 cities, through 27 authorized outlets in Ahmedabad, Aurangabad, Bengaluru (2), Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi (2), Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Kochi, Karnal, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Mangalore, Mumbai (2), Noida, Pune, Raipur, Surat and Vijayawada.
