Jamia Violence: Student demands 1 crore compensation for his injury

Delhi High Court has notified the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of Delhi and Delhi Police about the petition filed by the Student

Delhi High Court has sought answers from the Center and the AAP government in Delhi regarding a petition submission of a student at Jamia Milia Islamia University. The student claims that he has gotten injured in alleged police action during an anti-CAA demonstration on December 15 last year and hence he demands compensation.

Delhi High Court has notified the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of Delhi and Delhi Police about the petition filed by the Student.

Delhi High Court has even told the Home Ministry to register an FIR for the alleged crime committed by the police. The next hearing is on 20 May.

Mohammad Mustafa, the victim of violence has asked for compensation of one crore rupees for the loss he had to bear physically and mentally.

The student mentions in his petition that the money spent on treatment should also be paid.

On 17 February, another similar petition was filed in the High Court. On which the court sought answers from the Delhi government and the police. This petition was filed by Shayan Mujib. Earlier, student Minhajuddin had also filed such a petition seeking an investigation into the incident and compensation for the injuries inflicted on him.

It needs to be mentioned here that Jamia Milia University had been a hotbed of protests against CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act). Police action that was taken inside the University campus led to the injury of several students.
