Jammu schools to promote students of class 1-9 and 11 amid coronavirus outbreak

The Director School Education Jammu must monitor the promotion process in accordance with approved regulations. The notice says that it is also applicable to class 11 in the summer zone.

In the wake of coronavirus outbreak, Jammu and Kashmir School Education Department has declared the mass promotion of students from classes 1 to 9 and 11 in Summer and in Biannual/Private exam Winter Zones.

The order was issued on Tuesday, April 7 by Deputy Secretary School Education Department, Sachin Jamwal.

The order issued instructed the relevant authorities to upgrade all government and private school students who belong to the summer zone and belong to the J&K Board of School Education from classes 1 to 9 to the next level of the 2020-21 academic year as a “one-time exemption”.

The Director School Education Jammu must monitor the promotion process in accordance with approved regulations. The notice says that it is also applicable to class 11 in the summer zone.

Similarly, for the winter zone, the level 11 exam, which also appears under Biannual and private sessions of the winter zone of the two departments of J & K-, will also be promoted to class 12, provided they fill out the exam form.

The proposal has been forwarded to the School Education Department by the Chairperson JKBOSE and Director School Education Jammu, with a view to promoting students.
