Jan Adhikar Party (JAP) chief and former MP Pappu Yadav was on Sunday arrested for violating Covid-19 protocols in Patna of Bihar.

He was arrested from his residence this morning for allegedly moving around in a vehicle in Patna. Pappu Yadav has, however, said that he was helping families as Bihar is witnessing a spike in the Covid-19 cases.

Speaking with the media, Pappu Yadav alleged that he has been arrested for another reason that “the Bihar government and Nitish babu [CM Nitish Kumar] are aware of”.

“They’ll tell you why have I been arrested. I have helped every family for 1.5 months, I was at it despite coming out of an operation. The govt and Nitish babu will know what this is. An arrest doesn’t take place for violation of lockdown,” Pappu Yadav said.
