From an actress to a politician to being the AMMA for Tamil Nadu, the journey of Jayalalitha will now be adapted to the big screen. The much awaited biopic of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha is finally set to go on the floors.
Filmmaker Vishnu Induri recently revealed a few interesting bits on the project. Speaking of the casting, no names have been revealed as yet. However, it is being said that many names from the Bollywood and South industry will be a part of this grand film. According to the latest buzz From the Bollywood industry, names of Deepika Padukone, Tabu and Vidya Balan are popping up.
Surprisingly, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is not yet approached for the biopic. Earlier former beauty queen Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, had played a role inspired by J Jayalalitha in Mani Ratnam’s political drama Iruvar.
During an interview to Simi Garewal in 1999, Jayalalithaa had said that Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan would be best suited to play her on screen.
The makers are keen on launching the first look of the Jayalalitha biopic in 2019 on the occasion of her birth anniversary on February 24, 2019. The source say that Jayalalitha biopic will be made in three languages- Hindi, Telugu and Tamil.
