JDU Leader and Bihar minister Kapil Deo Kamat succumbs to Covid-19

The 69-year-old minister was undergoing treatment to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Patna. The special team of doctors were monitoring his health.

Senior Janata Dal (United) leader and Bihar Panchayati Raj Minister Kapil Deo Kamat succumbed to coronavirus infection on Friday. The Minister had been put on ventilator in AIIMS, Patna.

The 69-year-old minister was undergoing treatment to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Patna. The special team of doctors were monitoring his health.

Kamat was a minister for 10 years. He was active in politics for the past 40 years, but had been running ill for the past few days.

In view of deteriorating health of Kapildev Kamat, who is considered close to Chief minister Nitish Kumar, JDU had made his daughter Meena Kamat its candidate in the Bihar assembly election 2020 from Madhubani’s Babibarhi seat.
