Bharatiya Janata Party Central Election Committee on Wednesday decided to field Sukhdeo Bhagat from the Lohardaga assembly for the ensuing General Elections to the Legislative Assembly of Jharkhand.
The AJSU party has nominated Niru Shanti Bhagat from Lohardaga, is the wife of party leader Kamal Kishore Bhagat, who won the seat in 2014, but was disqualified after his conviction in a case.
In the subsequent bypoll held in December 2015, Sukhdeo Bhagat, contesting on Congress ticket defeated Niru Shanti Bhagat.
