In yet another incident of mob lynching in Jharkhand,  an 18-year-old teenager who was caught gatecrashing her girlfriend’s residence was brutally beaten to death by villagers on Sunday in the grossly Naxal-affected village of West Tundi.

The deceased identified as Rajendra Kisku, was a resident of Madandih village in Harladih, Giridih district. The heinous crime took place at midnight on Sunday, as per reports in Hindustan.

Kisku broke into Misir Haszada’s house around midnight. He was spotted by a child inside the house. After the child created a ruckus, the mob took off and the people dragged Rajendra out of the house and attacked him. The case was reported to the police in the morning.

After Rajendra’s lynching, the villagers of Madandih and Parshelar Tola allegedly got into a massive fight. The police had to make a lot of effort to avert conflict between the two villages.

The villagers opposed the police for the body being taken to the post mortem and demanded an immediate arrest of the accused involved in the lynching.

During the investigation, it was revealed that after seizing Rajendra Kisku, the Gram Pradhan called on the case for Monday morning after calling the kin of the youth to hear the case. He was tied up at night and put in a room. In the morning, when Rajendra’s family arrived with the people of his village, he was dead.

The villagers were reported to have brutally beaten Kisku at night. He could not withstand the pain and succumbed to his injuries.

However, the reason for Rajendra gatecrashing Misir’s residence has not been identified  yet. The police have linked the incident to the love affair and scrutinising the case.
