So here is the list of all the important details that you need to know about how this function can be seen in India.

Where will the program be held?

The swearing-in ceremony of the president in the US is called Inauguration. It is held in the US Capitol building of parliament located in Washington. This year’s theme is ‘America United.’ Earlier this year on January 6, the Parliament building was subjected to violence. President Donald Trump’s supporters had climbed and rioted in the parliament, which was criticised all over the world.

This year, a large number of people will have to watch the festival online because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. It will be held on Wednesday at 12 noon (10:30 pm Indian time). It can be seen on every major television network in the US and their social media handles, including ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox, CNN, PBS, Telemundo, Univision, and MSNBC.

The inauguration will also be seen on the official website of the White House and the YouTube channel of the Biden Inaugural Committee.

What’s different this time?

This time a huge crowd of people will not be able to see the programme due to the coronavirus epidemic. Moreover, security has also been tightened due to violence that took place two weeks ago. All the routes have been closed to capitol and the Parliament has been converted into a fort.

If things were normal in the United States, millions of people would attend the event. At the time of Barack Obama’s swearing-in in 2009, nearly 20 million people were present in Washington, D.C.
