Karnataka KCET result postponed, to be declared tomorrow; Check updates here

Karnataka KCET result 2020: After notifying in regard to the announcement of the KCET result today i.e., on August 20, Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) postponed the same till tomorrow, indeed the result will now be released on Friday (August 21).

Nearly, 1.95 lakh students who had taken the exam can check their result through the websites– kea.kar.nic.in, karresults.nic.in.

Taking note of the current COVID-19 pandemic situation, Deputy Chief Minister CN Ashwathnarayan informed that the counselling process will be held online this year.

“There will be two rounds of counselling and one round of extended counselling and there will be no additional round of counseling,” the minister said.

The fees and the seat-matrix ratio will remain the same as it was for the academic year 2019-2020, the minister mentioned.

KCET result 2020: When and where to check

The result will be available at the websites- kea.kar.nic.in, karresults.nic.in. The result will be available around 1 pm.

Steps to check KCET result 2020

  • Step 1: Go to the websites- kea.kar.nic.in, karresults.nic.in
  • Step 2: Click on the ‘CET- 2020’ result link available on the homepage
  • Step 3: Enter registration number, roll number
  • Step 4: Results will appear on the screen
  • Step 5: Download it, and take a print out for further use.

After the declaration of results, KEA is expected to release details about the fee structure and counselling.

The CET exam in Karnataka was conducted amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The KCET 2020 exam was held on July 30 and 31, after the Bengaluru High Court has taken a decision not to postpone the examination despite the constant demands of the students and parents of the candidates.

Earlier, KEA released the KCET answer key 2020 and students were allowed to raise objections is they have any regarding the Karnataka CET 2020 answer key up to August 8.

Counselling and seat allotment of KCET 2020 is done on the basis of ranks secured by candidates. The last rank at which a seat is allotted in a round becomes the KCET cutoff. As if now, the KEA will out KCET 2020 cutoff after the completion of a round, students can use the previous year’s KCET cutoffs to gauge their chances and apply accordingly.
