Karwa Chauth 2021: In Hinduism, Karva Chauth holds special significance for married women. On this day, married women keep a Nirjala (without water) fast for the long life of their husband and a happy married life. Every married woman eagerly waits for this day.

According to the Hindu calendar, Karva Chauth is observed every year on the Chaturthi Tithi of Krishna Paksha in the month of Kartik. This year Karva Chauth Vrat is falling on Sunday, 24 October. On this day, women break the fast after offering Arghya to the moon at night. This time the fast of Karva Chauth is going to be very special because this year an auspicious coincidence is being made on Karva Chauth. This auspicious coincidence is being made on Karva Chauth this time due to which its importance will increase even more is, according to the Hindu calendar, this time on Karva Chauth, the Moon will rise in Rohini Nakshatra. This constellation is considered very auspicious from a religious point of view. Moon is the lord of this nakshatra, so it is believed that seeing the moon in this nakshatra gives desired results.

Karwa Chauth significance:

Dressed in their best fineries, women begin their day with Sankalpa and pledge to observe the fast with utmost sincerity. Then, they spend the day singing hymns and taking part in spiritual pursuits. Later in the evening, a puja is performed, and after sighting the Moon, the fast is broken.

It is said that the women who observe this vrat get blessed with a long and happy married life. Interestingly, a legend associated with this festival explains how a doting wife was determined to bring her dead husband back to life.

This time Karva Chauth i.e. on October 24, at the time of moon exit, it will be 08:07 in the night.

Chaturthi date of Kartik month October 24, 2021 Sunday morning 03 hrs 01 minutes of Kartik month of Chaturthi Date Finished 25 October 2021 in the morning 05 hrs 43 minutes from time of worship on October 24 evening, 05 hours 42 minutes in the evening 06 pm.

Overall the duration of worship will be 01 hour 17 minutes till 59 minutes.

After worshiping in an auspicious time, break the fast after offering Arghya to the moon in the night.

Karwa Chauth 2021: Worship method

On this day, one should wake up before sunrise and eat the things made in Sargi according to the tradition of his house.

After taking a bath, take a vow of fast by lighting a lamp in the temple and observe fasting.

Install the picture of Gods and Goddesses in the auspicious time and read the worship and story.

Before the moon comes out, keep incense-lamp, roli, flowers, fruits, sweets etc. in a plate.

Fill a pot with water to offer arghya and fill rice in a clay pot and keep some money in it as dakshina.

Keep the items of adornment in a plate as well.

After the moon comes out, do moon sightings and worship and offer Arghya to the moon.

Break the fast by drinking water and seek the blessings of all the elders in your house.
