The internet and the film lovers were sent in a tizzy when it was announced that Katrina Kaif was doing the PT Usha Biopic. There might have been a point when filmmakers didn’t consider Katrina Kaif as one of the top performers in the Bollywood film industry. But gradually, with performances like the one in Zero, the actress has been able to carve a niche of her own in B town. In fact, she walked away with several praises for her portrayal of the alcoholic and depressed Babita Kumari in the Aanand L Rai directorial co-starring Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma. Although the film bombed badly, Kat received critical acclaim for her role.
When the trailer of Bharat was launched, everyone took notice of the evolution in Katrina’s performance. It seemed more nuanced, and the effort is visible. And within a day of the promo release, speculation was rife that Katrina has been approached to play the ace runner PT Usha in her upcoming biopic. Before this, we haven’t seen the actress shoulder any biopic on her own, so this obviously seems like an interesting space for her. In fact, this is maybe the first ever biopic of Katrina’s entire film career in Bollywood.
According to sources, Katrina is still under talking terms with the makers of the biopic and hasn’t given a nod yet. However, the makers are completely sure about casting Katrina in this upcoming biopic as they consider her to be fit for portraying the said role. Now, during an interaction with Pinkvilla, when she was quizzed about the offer, she neither confirmed it nor denied it. Katrina told that she has never commented on any film which has not been announced yet. She further added that people chase her about the news but she won’t say a yes until she knows that the film is going to get announced the next day. Katrina went on to say that she does not like talking about the films which are in discussion and this is the way she has always operated.
