Aam Admi Party national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is all set to announce the name for Bihar AAP president tomorrow at his residence. It is speculated that Shatrughan Sahu is among the top contender for the post. A highly placed source in the party explains that the announcement is merely a formality.
AAP is known for maintaining transparency in electing the candidates so far. Earlier this year AAP Bihar unit was asked to suggest names for the post and it is clear from that exercise that Shatrughan Sahu’s name was unanimously the favourite among all.
Sahu is a resident of Sheohar district Bihar and was responsible for the organisational build-up of four zones including Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur, Kosi, and Patna. His name was democratically decided in the state level meeting held in Patna earlier this month. A formal declaration of his name from the Bihar AAP Unit has been already sent to Bihar AAP in charge and Rajya Sabha MP, Sanjay Singh. and it is learnt that Singh has submitted the report to the Political Affairs Committee, the highest decision-making body of AAP.

When asked about his chances of becoming the president, Shatrughan Sahu denied to comment on this but he also said that he is coming to Delhi tonight and tomorrow will attend the meeting at Arvind Kejriwal’s residence. Other big announcements on contesting the general election, seat sharing and expected alliance will also be announced in the meeting. AAP is likely to contest 2 to 3 seats in the general election and is in no mood to be part of the mega-alliance of Congress.
