A controversy stirred after a case was booked against BJP leader AN Radhakrishnan for holding press conference. He had criticized Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on April 23 by holding a press conference.

The BJP leader had alleged that CM’s daughter Veena used AKG center’s address to register her company.

As part of the protest, they even sent post cards to Pinarayi’s daughter under AKG centre’s address. Cheranallur police had filed cases against four others who had taken part in the press conference.

While they have been granted bail, Radhakrishnan is not willing to apply for bail and wants the police to arrest him.

Many political leaders including ministers meet the press on a daily basis. Minister Kadakampally Surendran’s meeting with the press the other day had invited a lot of controversy.

The finance minister and the health minister talk to the media regularly. AN Radhakrishnan alleges that he was booked for speaking up against the CM. Police registered the case as per the order from higher authorities. There is nothing of substance behind the case. The public understands this, Radhakrishnan said.
