A labourer from the tribal community in Kannur district in Kerala has won the first prize of Rs 12 crore of the Christmas new year bumper lottery of the Kerala government, the result of the same was announced on the late evening of Monday in the capital Thiruvanthapuram.
Perunnon Rajan, the winner of the lottery is still in shock and he said that he needs time to believe it that it has happened to him for real.
He further added to it that it is just a dream as he is yet to overcome the surprise.
After the deduction of taxes he will be getting Rs 7.2 Crore, Rajan has not yet decided what he will be doing with his money and he added to it that he was on the verge of being homeless as his home was about to be repossessed by the bank and he is going to clear his debts and liabilities.
Rajan also said that he buys lottery tickets every day with the expectation that he would win big.
And that day has now finally arrived. In the past, he has won smaller lottery prizes of Rs 1000, Rs 2000 and Rs 5000. From winning small prizes comes the encouragement to buy tickets again as he turn out to be a crorepati in overnight, he said.
