Kerala: Man gets drunk at quarantine centre tests positive; friends delivered booze using rope quarantined

A man who created a ruckus in the quarantine centre after getting drunk was found coronavirus positive. The police asked the man’s two friends who delivered liquor bottles to him using a rope, to stay in quarantine.

It is reported that the man arrived from Dubai the other day.

The man was living in the quarantine centre when he was diagnosed with coronavirus . He consumed alcohol and after that created a ruckus at the centre two days ago and locked himself in a room for several hours. Later. the people’s representative and police calmed him down thus admitted him to Pathanamthitta district general hospital.

The test result came on Saturday.

According to Mathrubhumi, two people came on a bike and delivered liquor bottes to the quarantine centre. They tied the bottles using a cover and hanged it on the rope so that the person on the top can pull it.

The SI Sreejith came to k ow about the incident and thus he visited the two men and suggested them to stay in quarantine as they might have touched the rope and the cover which were used to hand over the bottles, the SI said.
