A Muslim League worker identified as M Ishaaq was killed in northern Kerala’s Malappuram district on Thursday night.

According to the reports, the 36-year-old was waylaid and attacked by four men with swords and knives while he was returning from a local mosque after prayers. The IUML worker was attacked around 7:30 pm. The attack took place near the mosque located close to Ishaaq’s house.

Though he was rushed to the hospital, he later succumbed to his stab wounds.

Post incident, Muslim League has come up with the allegation that CPM workers are behind the attack on Ishaque. Local leadership of IUML alleged that the attack was without any provocation and it was a planned murder.
