Kesari Movie review: Formulaic, forced patriotic tale

After a power packed trailer of Akshay Kumar starrer Kesari, the makers have now released the first song of the film. The trailer of the film was lauded by the critics and the audience as well. Akshay Kumar’s action and powerful personality in the trailer have surely made fans curious for the film.

The first song of the movie titled ‘Sanu Kehndi’ has been released today. Yesterday, Akshay has shared the teaser of the song and the curious fans couldn’t wait for the full song. Their wait has been over as the actor announced the release on Twitter.

The song shows some very interesting dance steps by the actor. Akshay has previously also played a Sikh character and has always nailed it. The actor has been delivering films related to social issues lately. Though this film is a patriot drama still the song proves that it surely has a lot of entertainment to offer.

The song also gives us the vibes of song ‘Hawan Karenge’ from the movie Bhaag Milkha Bhaag because of the impactful hook step that the latter also has. Akshay can be seen in a cheerful avatar and once again giving justice to his role.

The director Anurag Singh has talked about the song in an interview, he said “The song displays the bond that these 21 guys share. We just wanted to show them having fun before things get serious. Tanishk has based it on a folk tune from Punjab and created this lovely, peppy number that’s full of masti. Kumaar, who everybody knows is superb at writing Punjabi numbers with a great hook line, has penned the lyrics. The song will appeal to everybody.”

The film also stars Parineeti Chopra along with Akshay Kumar. Anurag Singh directorial movie is produced under Karan Johar’s Dharma Production, Isha Ambani and Twinkle Khanna.

The film is a Holi release and will hit the theatres on March 21.
