Sandalwood star Yash’s latest film KGF: Chapter 1 (Kolar Gold Fields) is giving a tough competition to Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Zero’. KGF which had the widest ever release for a Kannada film, on its first day, the film collected about Rs 25 crore from the worldwide box office, according to trade analyst Ramesh Bala.
This movie has been released on 2460 screens in India, out of which 1500 are Hindi, 400 are Kannada, 400 are Telugu, Tamil are 100, Malayalam are 60, according to Trade analyst Taran Adarsh.
KGF, which was primarily shot in Kannada, released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh, took to Twitter, to share the box office collection of the Hindi version.
He wrote, “KGF witnesses an upward trend on Day 2 [Sat]… Biz should grow further on Day 3 [Sun]… Growth on Day 2 [vis-à-vis Day 1]: 42.86%… Fri 2.10 cr, Sat 3 cr. Total: 5.10 cr. India biz. Note: HINDI version.”

The film has crossed $300,000 (Rs 2.10 crore) in the US, according to a tweet posted by Ramesh Bala. He also claimed that KGF is the fastest Kannada film to cross $300,000-mark in the US market.

On the first day of its release, KGF’s Hindi version earned around Rs 2.10 crore, on day 2 it earned Rs 3 crore and on day 3 the total business made by the movie at the box office was around Rs 5 crore. In this way, Yash starrer has made a business of Rs 10 crore in Hindi version.
KGF hit the screens alongside the Bollywood biggie Zero starring Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in lead roles and the Tamil action sequel film Maari 2 starring Dhanush and Sai Pallavi in lead roles. But KGF succeeded to make a good business on the 3rd day also, though other movies can be seen struggling.
