We are all aware of the dark mode, whether on Android, iOS, or desktops. Today, all the apps Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram and others have Dark Mode feature which one can enable easily from the settings. It should be noted that Chrome OS users will now have access to dark mode as well.
First seen on the Chrome OS Canary channel, it was reported that Google had been working on the feature back in September but had not completely implemented it. Do note that the feature is still ironing out the kinks and is not out for the Stable Build of Chrome OS as yet.
If you do want to use Dark Mode right now, follow the steps below:
Step 1. Start your Chromebook and sign in to Chrome.
Step 2. Copy and paste this into the URL bar: chrome://flags/#enable-force-dark and chrome://flags/#enable-webui-dark-mode
Step 3. Click and turn on both flags in the drop-down menu.
Step 4. And there you have it.
You’ve now installed Dark Mode on your Chrome OS. Again, do note that the feature is still in its early stages of development so do expect a few bugs and niggles here and there.
