During this lockdown, if anyone is facing a problem in getting generic medicines, then they can just download the Jan Aushadhi Sugam app. This app will help to provide their nearby PMBJP Kendra and will check the availability of medicines at their prices.
PMBJP Kendras also provides patients and the elderly with generic medicines at the doorstep to combat the corona pandemic. Both Android and iOS users can download the Jan Aushadhi Sugam app on their devices.
On April 8, 2020, the Union Minister for Chemicals & Fertilizers Sadananda Gowda tweeted, “Citizens may use ‘Jan Aushadhi Sugam” app to locate their nearest Kendra and availability of medicines with its price. You must open the play store on your device. Then, search for Jan Aushadhi Sugam (BPPI) app. Once it appears on the screen, tap to Install.
Steps to register Jan Aushadhi Sugam (BPPI) app:
- Step 1: Open the Jan Aushadhi Sugam (BPPI) app on your device
- Step 2: From the given options you need to tap Sign up
- Step 3: Enter all the details to register on the new page
- Step 4: On the registration page enter the Name
- Step 5: Now, enter your Mobile number
- Step 6: After that, enter your Email ID
- Step 7: Then, enter a password and retype it to confirm
- Step 8: You need to enter your Date of Birth or Age.
- Step 9: Now, after entering the age, select the State
After entering all the details, tap to Sign Up and follow the screen instructions.
About Jan Aushadhi Sugam app:
In November 2008, Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizer’s Government of India launched the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) campaign across India.
The main motto of the campaign is through a special Kendra called Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra, which provides quality medicines to the public at affordable prices.
Therefore, the Bureau of Pharma PSUs of India (BPPI) Medical has released a mobile application called Jan Aushadhi Sugam to help people find nearby Jan Aushadhi Kendras.
