Swastika Dutta, a renowned name in the Bengali TV industry has alleged that she was dragged, thrown out of the cab, abused and threatened by the Uber cab driver in Kolkata on Wednesday when she was on her way to shoot.
Dutta narrated her ordeal in a Facebook post and shared a photo of the driver claiming that Uber driver cancelled the ride mid-way and then threw her out of the car when she protested.

The entire incident took place in a span of half an hour, between 8:15 and 8:45 in the morning. Swastika Dutta said the encounter took place in front of a restaurant near the busy EM bypass in Kolkata.
Replying to tweets, Kolkata Police said it is taking action. Police arrested the accused, identified as Jamshed. Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Uber has said the incident was “deeply concerning”.
In a similar incident that happened a few days back, model Ushoshi Sengupta lodged a police complaint against those who manhandled her app cap driver and broke the car. After that, actor Jeetu Kamal had a bunch of men damaging his car in an inebriated state.
