Assembly polls in Bihar are still months away yet the leading political parties are all decked up to kick start election campaign. While the main contest is set to be between the BJP-JD(U) and RJD-Congress led Grand Alliance or Mahagathbandhan, smaller regional parties are also looking to grab voters’ attention in the state where assembly elections are due next year.

Recently a poster on the streets of Patna has caught everyone’s attention. Ruling party Janata Dal (United) has released a poster featuring a photo of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar along with a new slogan on it – ‘Kyon karen vichar, theek to hai Nitish Kumar’ (What’s there to think? Nitish Kumar is the one).

It is seen as the beginning of JDU’s election campaign in the political corridors of Bihar.

Significantly, this type of exercise was also held during the previous assembly elections. The slogan prepared by JDU with Nitish Kumar at the center was widely known in the last assembly election.

For the first time, the Bihari style of conversation was included in slogans – ‘Bihar me Bahar hai, Nitish Kumar hai’. Party won the election with this slogan.
