Mumbai: The Shiv Sena released its first list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on Friday.

Shiv Sena who is in alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party according to the seat sharing agreement, Shiv Sena is set to contest on 23 seats. The BJP will be contesting on 25 seats in the state.

Arvind Sawant will contest from South Mumbai, Rahul Shewale from South Central Mumbai, Gajanan Kirtikar from North West, Rajan Vichare from Thane, Srikant Shinde from Thane, Anant Gite from Raigad, Vinayak Raut from Ratnagiri Sindhudurg, Sanjay Mandalik from Kolhapur.

After the BJP released the 1st list of candidates for the Sikkim Legislative Assembly elections and the 2nd list for Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, the ruling party announced the name of its candidates for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections at 7:30 pm on Thursday, 21 March. In the list comprising of 182 candidates across 20 states, 16 name were announced from the Lok Sabha constituencies of Maharashtra.

Elections in Maharashtra will take place across four phases for its 48 seats.

In the first phase, polling will happen in seven constituencies on April 11. In phase two, ten seats will be contested on April 18. In phase three, 14 constituencies will vote on April 23 and lastly, 17 seats will be go for votes on April 29 in the fourth phase.
