For the third month in a row, the prices of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) has seen an increase across India. According to Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) website, the price of 14.2 kg LPG cylinder shot up by Rs 76.5. A 14.2 kg non-subsidised price of LPG cylinder now costs Rs 681.50 in Delhi, Rs 651 in Mumbai, Rs 706 in Kolkata and Rs 696 in Chennai.
The rate of 19 kg commercial gas cylinder has been upped by Rs 119. In Delhi a 19kg gas cylinder will now cost Rs 1204. The new prices have become effective from 1 November.
This subsidy amount for the gas cylinder varies on month-basis depending on variations in international benchmark LPG rate. When international rates move up, the government provides a higher subsidy.
GST (goods and service tax) on the cylinders are calculated on the market rates.
