Bhopal: Days after the mysterious death of a man in Madhya Pradesh’s Morena, a disturbing video has surfaced on social media, showing his daughters assaulting him while his wife holds him down. The deceased, Harendra Maurya, was found hanging under suspicious circumstances, and police have launched an investigation to determine if it was suicide or murder.
Family Dispute Turns Tragic
Harendra, an electrician and father of four, had been involved in frequent quarrels with his wife, according to neighbors and relatives. On March 1, he hosted the wedding of two of his daughters, a seemingly joyous occasion that soon took a dark turn.
Shortly after the wedding, his wife allegedly expressed her desire to separate and move back to her father’s home. Upset by this, Harendra reportedly locked himself in a room. When he failed to come out, his family searched for him and found him hanging. He was immediately rushed to a hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Conflicting Allegations and Viral Video
Following his death, neighbors claimed that Harendra died by suicide due to ongoing domestic conflicts. However, his in-laws accused his father and brother of murdering him, adding another layer of complexity to the case.
Amid these claims, a shocking video dated February 1 has gone viral on social media. The footage shows Harendra’s wife restraining him as their daughters brutally beat him with a stick. In the video, Harendra is heard screaming in pain, while his young son attempts to intervene, only to be threatened by his sister. The assault continues even as Harendra struggles to break free.
The video has triggered outrage on social media, with users demanding justice for Harendra and urging authorities to take strict action.
Police Investigation Underway
Senior police officer Dipali Chandoriya confirmed that the body has been sent for autopsy at Gwalior Medical College, and further action will be taken based on the report.
“We received information that a man allegedly died by suicide. A preliminary probe suggests ongoing family disputes. The post-mortem report will confirm the cause of death, and we are looking into all available evidence, including the viral video,” she stated.
Authorities are currently examining all aspects of the case, including the role of the family members, and a formal probe is expected to follow once the autopsy results are available.
This incident has once again raised concerns over domestic violence and mental health issues, highlighting the urgent need for intervention in troubled family situations before they take a tragic turn.
