Madhya Pradesh’s Covid-19 tally reaches 5,735, 270 new cases in the last 24 hours

This is second highest number of cases in a day after 391 cases were reported in the state on April 16. Nine deaths were reported taking the total death toll to 267, said the bulletin issued by the health directorate.

Bhopal: With 270 new positive Coronavirus cases in the state in the last 24 hours, Madhya Pradesh‘s tally of Covid-19 patients shot up to 5,735 on Wednesday.

This is second highest number of cases in a day after 391 cases were reported in the state on April 16. Nine deaths were reported taking the total death toll to 267, said the bulletin issued by the health directorate.

Chhatarpur reported its first case making it the 47th district to be affected by Coronavirus.

Indore reported the highest 78 cases while 58 people tested positive in Ujjain and 42 in Bhopal. Sagar, Mandsaur, Bhind and Rewa reported 21, 19, 13 and 11 positive cases respectively.

Indore and Ujjain reported two deaths each while Bhopal, Khandwa, Sagar, Mandsaur and Rewa reported one each. The death toll in the capital now stands at 40.

87% of total cases from only eight districts

87% of the total cases or 5,010 positive Covid-19 cases have been reported from only eight districts namely Indore, Bhopal, Ujjain, Burhanpur, Jabalpur, Khandwa, Khargone and Dhar. While the remaining 39 districts have reported 725 cases collectively so far.

103 patients recovered on Wednesday

103 people recovered and were discharged from various hospitals in Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday. So far, 2,733 people have recovered in the state. According to the state bulletin, this is nearly equal to the number of active patients (2,735) taking the state’s recover rate to almost 50%.
