Maha Shivratri, the festival of Lord Shiva is celebrated every year by Hindus all over the world and in India. According to the legend, on Maha Shivratri, the Linga form of Lord Shiva appeared for the first time. As per another belief system, Maha Shivratri is the day that marks the union of Lord Shiva and Devi Parvati.
The festival is observed on the Chaturdashi of Krishna Paksha in the month of Phalguna. This year, it will be observed on March 11.

Maha Shivratri Puja Ingredients:
If you are performing Puja in your house, these are ingredients you will need.
– You will need a Shiva Linga or an idol made of Panchadhatu (five metals).
– A brass or a copper plate to place the idol/ Linga.
– A wooden plank or a raised wooden platform.
For Abhishekam, you need:
– Water
– Raw Milk
– Ghee

– Piece of fresh cloth
For the Puja:
