Maharashtra Board SSC Result 2020: The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education will award average scores in the Geography paper of the Maharashtra SSC Board exam 2020, according to the reports.

Due to the lockdown, the Maharashtra Class 10th Board Geography exam 2020 was cancelled. Due to the prevailing situation in the state, the Board is unable to hold exams for the said subject and will give students average scores.

The awarding of average marks rule will also apply to the Vocational papers of Maharashtra Board 2020 exams which were also cancelled amid lockdown.

The Board, in an unprecedented move, cancelled the remaining exam for Geography slated on April 13, 2020 for reportedly more than 17 lakh students who appeared in the Maharashtra Board SSC exams.

However, the Maharashtra Board officials commented that there was no marking scheme prescribed in their existing rules for this situation. After consulting with experts, the decision to award average marks to the Class 10 students for the cancelled papers was taken by the Maharashtra Board.

The Board also issued a circular for the same post-consultation. As per the circular released by the Maharashtra Board, a student will be awarded his/her average score for the cancelled Geography paper.
