Dhiraj Vilasrao Deshmukh defeats NOTA, Shiv Sena came distant third

An interesting electoral result that came during the Maharashtra Assembly elections 2019. From the Latur city constituency, Congress candidate Amit Vilasrao Deshmukh, son of two-time chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, comfortably registered victory winning 1,33,161 votes.

Noteworthily, NOTA came second with 27,287 while the Shiv Sena party candidate Sachin alias Ravi Ramraje Deshmukh came third with 13,335.

The BJP on Thursday established a substantial lead as the counting of votes for Assembly elections progressed in Maharashtra and Haryana. In Maharashtra, the BJP was leading at 83 seats and its ally Shiv Sena was ahead at 53 in the 288-member Assembly, according to IANS-CVoter.

The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) was leading at 30 seats and its coalition partner Congress was ahead at 21 seats.
