Mainpuri Lok Sabha Constituency, Uttar Pradesh: Current MP, Candidates, Polling Date and Election Results

Mainpuri is one of the ten constituencies in Uttar Pradesh to go on polls in the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2019 on Tuesday, April 23. Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav is the Mahagathbandha candidate, the Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded Prem Singh Shakya.

In 2014 by-elections Tej Pratap Singh Yadav of the Samajwadi Party had registered a thumping victory against BJP candidate Prem Singh Shakya, Yadav won by a margin of 3,21,249 votes.

The voting for Uttar Pradesh’s 80 parliamentary seats will take place across the seven phases of the 2019 General elections beginning April 11. The last phase will be held on May 19.

According to Election Commission of India 2009 data the total electorates in the Mainpuri Parliamentary constituency were 1,399,259 of which 621,365 are females and 777,894 are males.

Mainpuri Lok Sabha constituency comprises for following five Vidhan Sabha (legislative assembly) segments: Bhongaon, Jaswantnagar, Karhal, Kishni, Mainpuri

In Phase III of the voting for the 17th Lok Sabha, elections will take place in 115 Lok Sabha constituencies across 14 states. Voting for this phase will take place on April 23. While, like all the other phases, counting will take place in May 23.

Along with Lok Sabha Elections, voting will also take place for the third phase of Odisha Assembly Elections 2019. The turnout in the last general election in 2014 was more than 66%, up from 45% in 1951 when the first election was held.
