Man orders Communist Manifesto on Amazon, gets delivered Bhagavad Gita in Kolkata

Kolkata's Suthirtho Das returned home to a surprise on Saturday when he found that Amazon had sent him an abridged version of the Bhagavad Gita, instead of the Communist Manifesto he ordered.

A man in Kolkata returned home to a surprise on Saturday as he ordered Communist Manifesto on Amazon but instead they sent him an abridged version of the Bhagavad Gita.

Suthirto Das placed an order for Communist Manifesto on Wednesday.

He soon received confirmation of his booking along with the estimated time of delivery from Amazon.

Errors and goof-ups are always inevitable for companies when it comes to handling barrage of orders, especially at a time when people are avoiding outdoor shopping.

On Saturday, he received a call around 11 pm from a lady who asked him to reject the package, saying it had the wrong book. Suthirtho was in office, he could cancel the order.

When he came back he opened the package and much to his surprise, the invoice of the booking mentioned Communist Manifesto, even though it had an “old, brown” Penguin copy of the abridged version of Gita.

In another similar case of wrong delivery, a man from Kolkata found that Amazon had sent him an abridged version of Bhagavad Gita instead of the Communist Manifest that he had ordered.
