Man plans own kidnapping to pay debt with ransom in Madhya Pradesh

Indore: Manoj Kumar Chaudhary, 30-year-old man planned his own kidnapping to pay his Rs 1 lakh debt with ransom from the act. Khajrana police have arrested the man and his accomplice from Jaipur, Rajasthan.

It all began when Manoj’s wife Bharti Chaudhary lodged a missing complaint at police station on October 11. She told police that Manoj had not returned home after he went to a grocery shop on October 10, police said according to a TOI report.

Two days later, on October 13, Bharti informed police that her sister-in-law, had received a WhatsApp message from Manoj’s phone number. She had also received some photos in which Manoj was seen tied with rope, following which Manoj called Bharti and told her that he has been kidnapped him and the people behind it all are demanding Rs 4 lakh as ransom.

Manoj advised Bharti to ask her brother for money and deposit it in his account. Later, police registered a case under Section 364-A of the Indian Penal Code, police said.

Some money was withdrawn from the account of Manoj through the debit card in Delhi, Mathura and Jaipur which raised suspicion of cops over him.

According to media report, police learnt that kidnappers and Manoj were in Jaipur and a team was sent to Jaipur from where Manoj and his accomplice were arrested.
