Hooghly: A man in Dankuni area approach a branch of Manappuram Finance Limited in a bid to secure a gold loan against two cows. He hoped to get the loan after hearing that cow milk contains gold in it.

This comes just days after West Bengal BJP Chief Dilip Ghosh made bizarre claims stating that cow milk contains gold and that is the reason its milk colour is golden.

“I have come here for a gold loan and hence I have brought my cows with me. I heard that there is gold in cow milk. My family depends on these cows. I have 20 cows and if I get the loan, I will be able to expand my business,” the man seeking loan told a media channel.

Earlier on Monday, Dilip Ghosh while addressing a gathering in Burdwan district of West Bengal, organised by the Ghosh and Gavi (cow) Kalyan Samiti said, “few intellectuals eat beef on roads, I tell them to eat dog meat too, their health will be fine whichever animal they eat, but why on roads? Eat at your home.”

He had further added, “Cow is our mother, we stay alive by consuming cow milk, so if anyone misbehaves with my mother, I will treat them the way they should be treated. On the holy soil of India killing cows and consuming beef is a crime.”

Dilip Ghosh also went to claim that Indian cows have a special characteristic- Indian cow milk contains gold and that is the reason its milk colour is golden.

Listing out the reason behind ‘milk has gold’ logic, Ghosh said that, “there is a nari (blood vein) in the humps of desi cows that produces gold with the help of sunlight. As for aunty breeds, there was no hump in foreign cows that’s why no gold.”

In 2017, Ghosh had asked party workers to beat policemen if they hesitate to take action against Trinamool Congress supporters. In December 2018, Ghosh had warned Kolkata Police of ‘stripping’ them of their uniforms if the party comes to power, accusing policemen of filing false cases complaints against party workers.

“Imported cows are aunties, not our gau mata” says BJP Bengal Chief Dilip Ghosh
