MoS Tourism virtually opens project in Kerala’s Guruvayur

New Delhi, Nov 4 (IANS) Union Minister of State for Tourism, Prahlad Singh Patel, on Wednesday virtually inaugurated the Tourist Facilitation Centre facility constructed under the project Development of Guruvayur, Kerala, under the PRASHAD Scheme of the Ministry of Tourism through a virtual platform.

Patel praised the state government for the optimum use of the funds released by the Government of India for creating the facilities of international standards. He also assured the state government of every cooperation and support required from his ministry.

The national mission on Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual, Heritage Augmentation Drive (PRASHAD) was launched by the Ministry of Tourism with the objective of integrated development of identified pilgrimage and heritage destinations.

The project for Development of Guruvayur under the scheme was approved by the Ministry of Tourism at a cost of Rs 45.36 crore in March 2017. The Tourist Facilitation Centre has been successfully completed at a cost of Rs 11.57 crore.

Union Minister of State for External Affairs, V. Muraleedharan, and Kerala Minister for Co-operation, Tourism and Devaswoms, Kadakampally Surendran, also attended the virtual ceremony.
