India’s most valued private company Reliance industries is holding its 43rd annual general meeting virtually. The Chairman and managing director Mukesh Ambani is hosting the meeting. Mukesh Ambani announced that Google will invest Rs 33,737 cr for a 7.7% stake in Jio Paltforms.

Jio has also revealed that the company is developing Jio Tv Plus, Jio glass and more. The company has also announced more details about Jio Mart and Jio 5G solution.

Ambani said, “Jio has developed a complete 5G solution from scratch that will enable us to launch a world-class 5G service in India.” The telecom operator promises 100 percent home developed 5G. Trials to start soon and will be ready for field deployment by next year.

Jio has also revealed that the company is developing Jio Tv Plus, Jio glass and more.

Ambani also announced that Google and Jio are partnering to build an Android based smartphone operating system.

Ambani apprised that Reliance has piloted kirana transformation in some stores as part of its plan to pivot JioMart as a hyprlocal delivery platform that leverages the unique reach and ubiquitous presence of kirana stores in Indian localities.

JioMart is built on two components powerful omnichannel tech platform and widespread physical network of Reliance retail. JioMart is built for kiranas as well as customers. The platform was launched a few months ago in beta in 200 cities. As an introductory offer customers will get Covid-19 kit with the first order, said Isha Ambani. Jio is working with WhatsApp to offer customers seamless experience in the future. Ambani said, “JioMart and WhatsApp will be working closely to create growth opportunities for millions of Indian small merchants and enable customers seamlessly transact with kirana shops.” 

The RIL chairman said that JioMart has become a partner of supply to kirana stores and continued operations during the coronavirus-forced nationwide lockdown.
