Mumbai: 20-year old assaults parents with hammer and knife, critical

A terrible incident from Nalasopara area of the city was reported where a 20-year-old boy attacked his parents while they were sleeping with screwdriver, knife.

The boy, Janmesh lived with his parents’ father Narendra Pawar (53) and mother Narmada (50) in the Imperial Towers at Nalasopara. The boy is a college student and works part-time as a stockbroker, his father is a stockbroker to. According to reports, the boy has attacked the parents because of an argument which happened over losing 38,000 of a client.

“The three were having dinner on Monday when father and son got into an argument, with Narendra saying that his son’s wrong advice led to a client losing Rs 38,000 in the stock market. Pawar was asking Narendra to help him compensate the client,” said Kerubhau Kolhe, Nalasopara police inspector.

The police reported that after the parents have gone to sleep after dinner. The boy went to their room at 3:30 pm at night and hit his father with the hammer on the head while saving her husband the mother bumped in and was stabbed with the kitchen knife. The boy’s father managed to call his relatives from the nearby area. They came an admitted them to KEM hospital.

The condition of the parents is highly critical and they are battling for their lives in the hospital.

The CCTV footage has shown Pawar in changed clothes leaving on his motorcycle, with a laptop bag.

The police have sent the clothes, hammer and knife for forensic analysis. They have registered a case under Section 307 (attempt to murder) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
